This privacy policy explains how Knight’s Car & Van Repairs (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses personal information when you contact us, visit our workshop or use this website. We are the data controller for the information you provide.

Information we collect
- Contact details you give us through the enquiry form, by phone, email or in person: name, telephone number, email address and preferred contact method.
- Vehicle details you share so we can quote or carry out work: registration, make and model, vehicle type and a description of the fault or work required.
- Records of work carried out on your vehicle, including invoices, parts fitted and any notes needed for warranty or safety.
- Basic website information such as pages visited, which is handled by our hosting provider for security and to keep the site working. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange work on your vehicle.
- To provide quotes, invoices and receipts.
- To contact you about work in progress, parts availability or collection of your vehicle.
- To keep records required by law (for example tax and accounting) and for warranty purposes.
We rely on your consent when you contact us, on the performance of a contract when we carry out work on your vehicle, and on our legitimate interests to run the business and keep proper records.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary, for example with parts suppliers when ordering a specific part for your vehicle, with a recovery operator if we arrange transport, or with our accountant and HMRC to meet our legal obligations.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to work are kept for up to 12 months. Job records, invoices and related information are kept for at least 6 years to meet UK tax and consumer law requirements.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct anything that is wrong, to ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, and to object to certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details above.
